Action Iran is a London based coalition who support the people of Iran and see any foreign intervention whether sanctions or military intervention as detrimental to their well-being or livelihoods.
Their campaign was launched in March 2005, instigated by threats of foreign military intervention in Iran. They campaign against sanctions, military strikes and any other attacks.
Their aims are to:
- Raise public consciousness of the detrimental effect of rhetoric and policies of military intervention on political, social and economic democratisation in Iran.
- Highlight the illegitimacy of any attacks on Iran and campaign for a legitimate dialogue with regards to Iran's nuclear energy programme.
- They work in partnership with other anti-war and peace movements to campaign against military intervention in the region and against nuclear proliferation in the Middle East and beyond.
