MP Tessa Jowell wants the BBC to concentrate on 'entertaining the people', and quite clearly the BBC News channels and website are beginning to tow the line, appearing to be not all that interested in educating or informing.
A current listing on the BBC News website 'Have Your Say' section discussing the topic "What Next For Iran" recently had all references to Iran trading its oil in euros removed.
As one poster put it " I notice that all the comments that ignored this artificial hysteria about weapons programs and stated the real reason for the US to get worried have been removed. That reason being that Iran was seriously considering trading its oil in Euros and not dollars. If it did that and other oil producers followed suit then the US economy would collapse over night. All this stuff about WMDs are a complete smoke screen. I am a bit disappointed with the BBC for removing the original ones".
